AN appeal for cash to restore a riverside walk and prevent further erosion has topped £24,000.
A total of £75,000 is needed for the scheme near Richmond, North Yorkshire, and it is hoped that major organisations and businesses can be encouraged to help.
The appeal for the Easby Abbey Restoration Project was launched last year.
Continued erosion by the river has undercut the bank, causing several sections to fall away.
Information about the appeal is available from John Deighton on (01748) 825041.
