TWO information events are being held this week to promote a type of short-term fostering, called Sharing the caring.
They are being held by Stockton Borough Council's child placement team, tomorrow, from 10am to noon, and on Wednesday, from 6pm to 8pm, in the ground floor committee room at Stockton Town Hall.
Child placement team manager Jackie Ward said: "Sharing the caring is a form of fostering in which children and young people with special needs are placed with foster carers for short breaks.
"A child is carefully matched to one carer or family so that a relationship can develop, and they will go on to stay with them on a regular basis for periods ranging from a few hours a week to a few days a month.
"This gives parents a break from the pressure of caring for them, and offers the child a positive experience of being separated from them."
Anyone who cannot attend the session, but would like details should ring (01642) 397212.
