STOCKTON and Billingham College was one of 30 organisations to be presented with a national health and safety award for its work during the European Week for Safety and Health 2000.
The presentation was made by Sir Trevor McDonald at a ceremony in London.
The week took place in October, and the theme was backpain and musculoskeletal disorders.
To promote health and safety, the college organised a week of displays, training, competitions and activities.
Its aim was to raise awareness of the dangers of causing back injury among its full and part-time students.
