PLANS for a £100,000 play area for a Hartlepool estate have been approved.
Work will start soon to redevelop and re-equip the 25-year-old Clavering play area.
The work is expected to be finished in the summer, and the play area will have facilities for youngsters of all ages, including multi-sports goalmouths and an aerial runway.
There will also be a fenced area for children under four, a separate area for those under eight, and an unfenced area for nine to 12-year-olds.
The plan was drawn up following consultations with local families and children.
Councillor Stephen Close, chairman of Hartlepool Borough Council's community services and safety board, said: "I am delighted that these exciting plans can now proceed.
"The new play area will offer something for children of all ages and I hope it will be something which all local youngsters will take pride in."
