A RANGE of electronic equipment was stolen in Darlington at the weekend.

Almost £1,500 worth of Sony PlayStation games were taken in a raid on Friday.

Thieves climbed through an upstairs window of a house in Latimer Road and took 50 games, a PlayStation console, and an Aiwa video recorder.

In another burglary, a house in North Road was raided between 7.15pm and 11pm on Saturday by thieves who used a bladed instrument to force open a patio door.

Taken from the house were a Dyson vacuum cleaner, a Sky Digital box, a JVC compact disc system and a Toshiba video cassette recorder.

A third house, in Brankin Road, was raided between 4pm on Saturday and 3am on Sunday, by thieves using the same method of entry.

Cash and jewellery, plus Royal Doulton figurines and Crown Derby plates, were taken, plus a variety of electrical goods, which included a Technics compact disc player, a Sharp 21in colour television and a Gameboy game machine.
