AN ENVIRONMENTAL charity is planning a series of spring cleans throughout Derwentside next month.
Joe Bussey, project officer for rural sustainability at Acorn Trust, will be helping schools and community groups participate in events.
This year, the campaign, coordinated by The Tidy Britain Group, is called Just Bin It, and involves local groups tidying up an area near to them.
The spring clean event can also include puzzles, and children's activities tailored to specific age groups.
Groups already registered include: Moorside Primary Nature Club; Blackfyne Comprehensive Environmental Group; Consett County Juniors; Burnside Primary; the Grove Nature Club; Annfield Plain Infant School and Hamsterley and Low Westwood Residents' Association.
Anyone who is a member of a group and would like to participate in their area please contact Joe Bussey at the Acorn Trust on (01207) 582600 or e-mail joanneational English")Kz$
