FIVE schools in the North-East have received cash help to put towards community projects.
Beaumont Hill School, in Darlington, Dyke House School in Hartlepool, Ferryhill School, Seaham School and Ashington Community High School have been given sums ranging from £3,000 to £7,000.
The cash has been made available through the Barclays Bank New Futures scheme and will be used for projects including a recreational garden and setting up a community newspaper.
