THREE people were warned yesterday that they face prison, after admitting being involved in the supply of heroin.

Judge Esmond Faulks told John Fothergill, 33, Jennifer Winter, 24, and Lloyd James Edward William Speight, 26, that prison would be the likely outcome when they return to Durham Crown Court next month.

The three admitted conspiracy to supply the class A drug, between November 1999 and February 2000. Fothergill and Winter also admitted a similar charge relating to between March and May last year.

The court heard that a 20-year-old woman had already admitted allowing her premises, in Leeholme, near Bishop Auckland, to be used for the supply of heroin, and a 30-year-old man has pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of the drug.

Sentence on all five has been adjourned for reports.

Bailing Forthergill and Winter, of Aldham Street, Darlington, and Speight, of Eden Close, Coundon, near Bishop Auckland, Judge Faulks said it was on the understanding that they would probably receive custodial sentences.
