A DOG-LOVER has embarked on a one-man mission to save unwanted canines from being put down.
Unwanted and stray dogs which find themselves at Waterfall Kennels in Guisborough have just one week to find their owners, or a new home, or else they are destroyed.
But Robert Walker is trying to save as many of the pets as possible.
He has an arrangement with the owners of the kennels to save one dog at a time and tries to find a home for them of his own accord.
He advertises for new homes at his own expense and at the moment is trying to find a new home for Whiskers, a lurcher/terrier cross, which is not even a year old.
Anyone wishing to give Whiskers a home can call Mr Walker on (01287) 622619.
