AN award-winning consumer watchdog team has added another accolade to its collection.
The trading standards consumer advice service operated by North Yorkshire County Council has been awarded the Government's quality mark for legal advice services.
The team deals with about 14,000 enquiries each year from customers and traders across the county.
The advice provided ranges from help on how to recover money after buying faulty goods, to complex credit agreement matters.
Gordon Gresty, director of business and consumer services in North Yorkshire, said: "The consumer advice team is one of the front-line services of the county council, dealing day in and day out with the concerns of people right across the county.
"The team plays a vital role in helping customers with their problems and also in identifying businesses, which either need to be advised of how to deal with consumers or which need tackling firmly to prevent consumers losing out."
