SOUTH Durham hospitals are succeeding in keeping down patient waiting times, according to a report.
Between October and December last year, more than 90 per cent of patients visiting the accident and emergency departments of Bishop Auckland General Hospital and Darlington Memorial Hospital were seen within 15 minutes of their arrival.
Of the 86,000 people who visited the out-patient clinics, 92 per cent were seen within 30 minutes.
The statistics are contained in a Patients' Charter report by South Durham Health Care NHS Trust, which shows the two hospitals are achieving the trust's standards.
