CARING shop workers presented a charity and its giant bear with a cheque for £7,000 yesterday.
Staff at Marks and Spencer's Middlesbrough branch donated the sum to the Edward Guy Foundation, a cancer charity.
It marked the store's third gift to the Teesside charity since employees chose it as their favourite cause.
They raised almost £4,000 through a social evening, raffles, tombolas and book sales, and the amount was matched by Marks and Spencer's head office.
Among those at the presentation were Glynis Guy, who founded the charity, and a giant bear donated by the store, which has become its mascot.
