Tow Law League
Tommy Sloan and Ian Turner of Tow Law New Market won the League Doubles Championship by beating Stuart Turner and Malcolm Umpelby of Tow Law Station in the Final played at Tow Law Black Horse.
The semi-finals were the best of three frames after the players had earlier qualified in a sudden death shoot-out at four venues. In the first semi-final Stuart Turner and Malcolm Umpelby played Malcolm Boughey and Alan Ogilvie of the Tow Law Cattle Mart and came through to win 2-1. The New Market pair received a bye in their semi-final when Barry Sims and his partner from Hamilton Row Black Horse failed to appear.
In the Final the New Market pair took the first frame but were in a very poor position in the second. However the Station pair failed to push home their advantage from two sets of two shots, eventually leaving Ian Turner a comfortable black to the middle pocket for victory.
Durham County
Super League
Crook B entertained Bishop Auckland A and defeated their opponents 10-4. Winners for Crook with two wins were Johnny Mason, Gavin Witton, Les Scott and Cliffy Owens. There was one win each for Steve Hunter and David Stephenson. Winners for Bishop with two wins were Andrew Delve and one each for Steve Lowther and Michael Richardson.
Durham entertained Shildon who are last year's league runners-up and won 9-5. Winners for Durham with two wins were Andrew Morley, Paul Brockway and Chris Bowron, one win each for Gavin West, DaveNeill and Dave Ferguson. Winners for Shildon with two wins were Martin Taylor, one win each for Nigel Hall, David Waites and Paul Armstrong.
Ferryhill visited bottom placed Aycliffe and came away with the biggest win of the week, beating their hosts 11-3. Crook A travelled to Chester-le-Street and came away with a 8-6 victory. In a rearranged fixture, Bishop A beat Shildon 8-6.
Cliffy Owens of Crook B leads the player of the year standings with 11 wins from 12.
Bishop Auckland League
Spennymoor Weardale pulled off a good home win over Witton Park Rose and Crown when they had two singles points from Shane Casen, Martin Short and Chris Bowden and one from Lou Cooper. The Park replied with two points from Paul Frame and one from Paul McConnell. The Rose and Crown then took the doubles point through Dean Hodgson and Paul McConnell but the Weardale widened the gap when Shane Casen took both captain's points against Paul Frame. Crook Olde Horse Shoe have established a 12 point lead at the top of the table from Spennymoor Ashtree, who are two points ahead of Bishop Auckland Derby and Bishop Auckland Football Club.

Crook Queen's Head A entertained Crook Mill House and shared the singles points but the hosts went to victory when they took both the doubles points. The Queen's singles points came from John Howarth with two and on each from Phil Hall, Neil Harker, Dave Willey and Doug Smailes. The singles replies came from Ian Bibby with two points and one each for Mark Nicholls, John Winning, Brian Harrison and John Hutchinson.

Willington League
Willington Burn pulled off a good three points home win over Willington Football Club after they had singles points from Tony Henderson, Alan Franks, Robert Thompson and Peter Minto. Micky Pickles and Christopher Hawkins took singles points for the footballers and then combined to take a doubles point, while the Burn took the other two. Hunwick Quarry Burn dented their hosts, Howden Australian A's outside hopes of landing the title when they came back to win the decider. The Aussie took the lead after the singles with wins from Ian Williams, Mark Richardson, Ray Newton and John Allot, while Leanne Cunningham and Keith Smith won for the visitors. The Quarry Burn then took the first two doubles to square the match and in the deciding doubles Keith Dufton and Chris Edmundson beat Ian Williams and Jimmy Bainbridge.

Spennymoor League
Spennymoor Hillingdon fought back to force a draw on their visit to Spennymoor Penny Gill. The home side had singles wins from B. Armstrong, L. Robinson and A. Armstrong with the Hillingdon replying with wins from K. Smith and P. Fox. The home side held on to their one point advantage after they shared the doubles points, but the Hillingdon gained a creditable draw when G. Smith beat B. Armstrong in the captain's game. Chilton Wheatsheaf moved five points clear at the top after dropping just one point at Spennymoor Football Club. The Pit Laddie are second one ahead of the Black Horse, but both have a match in hand. Spennymoor Quinns Inn are two adrift of the second placed teams but have two games in hand of the leaders.
