Billingham Falcons, already assured of runners-up slot in North A and a place at the national finals, completed their regular league season with a 4-1 win over Nottingham Tigers. Robert Dowd gave Falcons the lead at 2.04 and Steve Pritchard scored a second after nine minutes.
Falcons were quick off the mark in the final session with Dowd tucking away his second 60 seconds into the period. Four minutes later John Elkins extended the advantage to 4-0. Nottingham reduced the deficit at 33.38 with a goalmouth scramble for their consolation goal.

Billingham Wildcats returned from Blackburn Thunder with two points following a 5-1 win in the Women's Division One North. Julie Hall gave Wildcats the lead after three minutes and two late goals in the first period from Vicki Wallace and Vanessa Hill sent Wildcats 3-0 ahead. There were no more goals until 41.15 when Blackburn scored their consolation. Hill completed her hat-trick with strikes in the 46th and 49th minutes. Wildcats were without Rachel McCabe and Zoe Bayne who were on Great Britain duty in Slovenia.

WHITLEY Mohawks are almost certain of avoiding English Pee-Wee (Under-14) North promotion/relegation play-offs after defeating Altrincham Tomahawks 4-2 at Hillheads. The two sides meet again on Sunday and if Mohawks avoid a massive defeat they should keep their place in North A. Mohawks went ahead in the fifth minute with a Jack Stamp goal, the only goal of the first period. It took eight seconds for Philip Atherton to increase the advantage. Altrincham clawed their way back and they levelled at 27.53 with two goals in as many minutes. Andrew Wile restored the lead two and a half minutes later and made certain of victory with his second at 34.17 when Mohawks were short-handed.

Whitley Bay Mischiefs, runners-up in the English U-10 North League, defeated Sunderland Apaches 8-1 to complete their league programme. Apaches took the lead at Hillheads after 22 seconds with a well-taken goal from Callum Davies. Mischiefs levelled in under a minute through Callum Watson. He struck again in the final minute of the first period to give Whitley a 2-1 interval lead.
After the break, four goals in as many minutes through Bob Mole, Adam Perrie (2) and Jonathan Chilvers saw Whitley into a 6-1 lead at 29.47. Mole and Nathan Salem completed the scoring in the 38th minute.

Sunderland hosted two tournaments at the weekend at the Telewest Arena. On Saturday it was for Under-12s and Under-16s on Sunday.
Kingston Rivermen won with Whitley Bay second, Sunderland fourth and Billingham sixth out of six in the U-12s. Billingham won the Fair Play Trophy. Sunderland Arrows won the four-team Under-16 event as well as the Fair Play Trophy.
