Ripon'S 14-day 2001 Flat season starts with a seven-race programme on Wednesday, when racing gets underway at 2.20.
The feature races are the Galphay Conditions Stakes over nine furlongs, the Fountains Handicap Stakes over six furlongs and the betabet Handicap Stakes over a mile and a quarter.
The latter race launches this season's betabet series, which will feature two races at each of the nine Yorkshire racecourses.
Ripon's most valuable race of the 2001 campaign is the William Hill Great St Wilfrid Handicap Stakes - with prize money of £37,500 - on Saturday, August 18.
The course's only Listed race of the season is the £20,000 Ripon Champion Two-Year-Old Trophy, which takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, August 27.
