A NIGHTCLUB is offering free entry and drinks to people who know how to kick-start a party.
The Top Hat, in Spennymoor, is in the middle of a £1m transformation and will relaunch later this year as the Cube.
In a bid to draw crowds back to the venue which has been in existence since the 1960s, managers are looking to recruit resident clubbers to create a party atmosphere.
Club manager and promoter, Colin Fletcher, said: "We are looking for people who love the club scene and are able to project the image that CUBE is aiming for. It is aimed at serious clubbers who want to have a fantastic time without any of the problems that can be associated with clubbing.''
The idea is already being used in cities such as London and Manchester, where 'resident clubbers' make people feel welcome and watch for troublemakers.
The Cube hopes to attract top disc jockeys, including Radio One's Pete Tong, Danny Rampling and DJ Spoony. People interested in dancing the night away on Fridays and Saturdays can call the club on (01388) 420450.
