WORK on housing improvements costing almost £650,000 is under way in Hartlepool.
A total of 105 houses on the Owton Manor estate are being upgraded with money from the Single Regeneration Budget and Hartlepool Borough Council.
Improvements being carried out include installation of gas central heating, cavity wall insulation and smoke alarms, as well as kitchen refurbishments.
The work is expected to be completed by July
