RESIDENTS are being encouraged to dig out their family heirlooms for a television broadcast.
BBC's Antiques Roadshow is being recorded at Hartlepool on Thursday.
The team of famous experts will be at the Mill House Leisure Centre in Raby Road from 9.30am until 4.30pm, to look at people's hidden treasures.
The programme was invited to the town as part of its celebration of the 800th anniversary of the granting of the town's Royal Charter by King John.
Mayor Frank Rogers said: "It's a delight to be able to welcome the Antiques Roadshow to Hartlepool.
"I hope as many people as possible will come along during the course of the day to help make it the best programme ever.
"Given that the town is celebrating its heritage this year through the charter celebrations, it's very fitting that the spotlight should be on antiques."
Admission to the roadshow is free.
Hartlepool featured in another BBC show last month when the Holiday team checked it out.
