A DUSTBIN derby and a giant snakes and ladders game are some of the fun in store for youngsters this week.
Children from eight primary schools are to attend Hartlepool's Environment Roundabout event.
More than 350 pupils are expected to attend the event tomorrow and Thursday, which is being funded by the Health Action Zone Teesside.
Children will learn about the dangers that smoking can have on the environment as well as health, discover the causes of climate change and also what they can do to help prevent it.
They will also be able to take part in a litter pick, play snakes and ladders to find out more about the coast, join the dustbin derby on recycling, and discover different ways of travelling to school.
Organisations involved in the event, run by Hartlepool Borough Council, include Tees Smoking Cessation Service and Tees District Health Promotion Service.
Organiser Emma Tierney, said: "The idea is that the children learn about the different aspects of the environment and how it can affect their health."
