GEORGE REYNOLDS,
Darlington FOOTBALL CLUB CHAIRMAN
MULTI-millionaire George Reynolds submitted his favourite Parker pen for a psychic reading by Jessie Byers and Lena Dickeson, both members of Sunderland's Spiritualist Church.
They were not told whose pen it was.
Lena said all she could see around the pen was huge amounts of money and wanted to know if the owner was wealthy. She said she could feel piles of notes around it. She added this man was quite shy beneath his exterior and he needed to be very careful with his next venture.
Jessie sensed the pen belonged to a person who had had quite a few anxious moments and had been pulled one way and another. She advised him to be strong enough to go his own way. She said he'd had a lot of worries but he'd also seen huge improvements in his life.
WHAT GEORGE SAID...
"I can't believe the accuracy of these readings - especially Lena's. I'm absolutely stunned. It's spot on.
"That Parker is my lucky pen and I've had it for 30 years. I've spent many years counting money with it. A very large amount of cash used to have to pass through my hands and I'd use the pen to help me count it or put it in between notes or on top of heaps. As far as a new venture is concerned, she could only be referring to the stadium which is a venture that I know I have to be extremely careful with so her reading is bang on. I don't think I'm shy though - I'd only be shy about taking my trousers off in public, I think.
"I think Jessie was right when she talked about worries and improvements. After all, I have gone from poverty in the past to being very comfortable now.
"Overall, I've got to say I'm really impressed by the readings and a little bit stunned too. That pen's my favourite pen and it must say a lot about me. I've got solid gold pens worth £6,000 but I somehow hold on to this cheap little Parker because it brings me luck. Since I've not had it for a few weeks, Darlington's lost two games so I think I need it back quickly!"
JUDIE McCOURT
TFM RADIO PRESENTER
Judie submitted a small leather purse which she's used for the past two years to Hazel Alderson from the Spiritualist Church in Sunderland. She wasn't told whose purse it was.
Hazel said the purse belonged to someone who had travelled a lot but who at the moment might feel their career was going backwards. She saw a Manchester or Lancashire connection and the name Robert Simpson came to her. She thought this may possibly have been someone who passed on with a bad chest. She also saw a Mary in the spirit world connected to this person. Hazel said the owner of the purse was a very sensitive individual who could be a bit careless but had a lot of energy. She advised this person to take time out for themselves.
WHAT JUDIE SAID...
"I was an air stewardess for a couple of years so I've certainly travelled and I still travel a lot in my job,
around the country and to Europe.
"It's interesting what she says about my career because I've been talking about it to my friends recently. I moved off the very popular breakfast slot because I couldn't take the early starts anymore and now I'm doing the less popular 10am to 1pm slot and some of my friends think it's a backward step.
"The mention of bad chests is uncanny because my grandfather died of a bad chest nine years ago and his name was Robin Stephens - the same initials as Robert Simpson. My grandmother also died of a bad chest.
"I don't know of any Mary who's passed away although I had a cousin called May who died but I wasn't very close to her. The connection I have with Manchester is that my best friend lives there.
"I think the things that hit me most were the bits about travelling and my career - the latter is something I've been talking about for the past few days. The last bit about my personality is so accurate and I think my close friends would recognise me by that description."
UGO EHIOGU
FOOTBALLER FOR MIDDLESBROUGH FOOTBALL CLUB
Ugo joined Middlesbrough FC in October 2000 after leaving Aston Villa. He signed a four year contract with the club and submitted the Middlesbrough football strip he wore the day he was signed up for a reading to psychics Julie Ness, of Newcastle's Psychic Centre, as well as Lena, Jessie and Hazel. The psychics were not told whose strip it was.
None of the psychics got very strong vibes from the strip although the general feeling was that this person was going to make a move.
WHAT MIDDLESBROUGH FOOTBALL CLUB'S SPOKESMAN SAID
"Ugo has only just got here and he's signed a four year contract so he's not about to leave the club. But he is moving houses from the Midlands to the North-East which is perhaps what the psychics were referring to."
PETE ZULU ROBSON
TV CHEF
PETE is currently appearing in Tyne Tees' Pot Luck on Saturdays at 12.30pm. Pete was also a vocalist in chart-topping band Toy Dolls who sang Nellie the Elephant.
Pete had his palm read by Julie who felt he was connected to a spirit in the building where she read his palm, Sunderland restaurant, 11 Tavistock Place.
She saw job changes for him and a possible move overseas or to the south and she saw a foreign connection in his life. She said March 21, 2001 was a very significant date for him and that he needed to be patient. She said he had a tendency to want everything to happen straight away but that he must resist making hasty decisions. She felt he was going through a few awkward legal proceedings at the moment but there would be a lot of changes over the next three years.
WHAT PETE SAID...
"The reading wasn't like anything I expected. I'm a die-hard sceptic but when she mentioned a connection between me and the building, I was bowled-over because my father, who died six years ago, was an apprentice painter and decorator in the building in the 1940s when they had a warehouse attached to it. I was just staggered when she told me this.
"The foreign connection has got to be my girlfriend who is French but as far as the date March 21 goes, it doesn't ring any bells. The mention of legal proceedings was very relevant as I'm going through a lot of legal stuff with past employers at the moment. I'm also very spontaneous which she could have been referring to when she mentioned 'hasty decision-making'. In all, she told me things that I was amazed at because they were so specific."
* Psychic nights will take place at Sunderland restaurant, 11 Tavistock Place, on a regular basis.
