AN empty sheltered housing complex may be sold off.
Winton House, off North Road, Darlington, has been left vacant since its last residents were transferred to alternative accommodation.
Darlington Borough Council is to market the property to see if there is interest in an alternative use.
Winton House, which was built in 1975, has 22 bedsits and five flats.
The council's cabinet will be told today that converting the building would prove too costly for the authority .
The council is proposing to add a ten-metre strip of land at North Park as a garden before putting it up for sale.
