A centre has been launched to offer help and advice to hearing-impaired people.
Run by Hearing Concern, the drop-in centre will be held on the first Tuesday of every month, from 1pm to 4pm, at the Abbey Day Centre in Pity Me, Durham.
It will offer a wide range of services, including advice about hearing aids and support services.
Batteries for hearing aids will be available at the centre, so that people will no longer have to travel to hospital to renew them.
