Middlesbrough-based Sgt Graham Shaw, 39, will captain the British police cricket team in a forces tournament in London in July.
The tournament will include top players from the Army, Navy, Air Force and clubs in the London area.
Sgt Shaw said: "We have picked a squad of 19, from which we will take 15 on tour. We have done quite well in the past, winning more than we have lost."
On his return to Teesside Sgt Shaw and his Guisborough team mates will be kept busy coaching pupils at Laurence Jackson School, which hopes to be awarded specialist status for sport
