Newton Aycliffe turned on the style in winning the Northern League Division Two with a 9-0 victory over Horden.
The first-half was full of great promise with plenty of chances, one of which Katie Hewitson converted with an excellent strike, her first goal for the club.
Although Newton Aycliffe continued to dominate the half and were awarded a penalty the score remained 1-0 at half-time due to an impressive exhibition from the Horden goalkeeper who kept her team in the game.
The second-half showed midfield brilliance from Kim O'Connor and Tracy Swales who both scored hat-tricks as well as running the show with endless energy. Sarah Alexander came out of defence to add to the total with a great finish. Jodie Gwynne went close on several occasions but it was Lisa Marley who came on as a substitute and scored the final goal. Newton Aycliffe, sponsored by Alexander-le-Skerne, were assured of top position following Penrith's 2-1 triumph over favourites Durham.
