A collection of work by textile artist Ruth Spaak will go on show at a North-East art gallery tomorrow.
The vibrant wall hangings, which have been made using specially-produced glass components, will be part of a new exhibition at the Shipley Art Gallery in Gateshead.
Ruth ties knots, weaves, sews and threads the materials together in rows, creating an unusual and striking effect.
During the exhibition, she will be the gallery's first artist in residence and will be creating new work, running workshops and drop-in sessions for all the family.
The aim of the project is to encourage more people to get involved with alternative forms of glass and textiles.
Ann Fletcher-Williams, curator, said: "We're very pleased to be able to exhibit Ruth's work and we are thrilled she will be at the gallery over the Easter holidays.
"We have a wonderful range of activities for all the family during the exhibition and look forward to seeing Ruth making new works of art."
