TALENTED young gymnasts from a Guisborough school have been in outstanding form recently.
The girls' under 13 team from Laurence Jackson school took first place at the North of England schools' competition at Biddick school, Washington, where Katie Ditchburn was the individual champion.
The team, made up of Katie, Kerry Hill, Rachael Stamp, Rachel Boyes, Helen Thomas and Sarah Haswell, had earlier triumphed in the Cleveland schools' competition held at Nunthorpe.
Katie was also individual champion there, with Kerry in third place, while the under 13 B team of Danielle Nixon, Sadie Pinchbeck, Stephanie Armstrong, Michaela Court, Michaela Jennings and Laura Green were third.
The over 13 team - Nicola Houston, Amy Bullock, Kim Richards, Kimberley Borrow and Louise Burdett - finished second at Nunthorpe.
Sue Gill, head of girls' PE at the school, said: "I'm delighted with the result.
"It's just reward for all the work that these talented girls had put into their preparations.
