Jean Atkinson (14.04) overcame Pat A Smith (15.09) 3-2, Babs Evans (17.89) beat Dorothy Pounder (12.05) 3-0 and Ellen Humble (11.11) defeated Marlene Hubby (10.80) 3-2. Lady of the match Vera Oliphant (18.09) beat Julie Sorby (16.58) 3-1 to pull one back for Burn Valley. The pairs were shared.
Leaders Wings won 6-1 at the M and D, getting off to a good start when Pat J Smith (16.12) beat Sandra Reed (13.67) 3-2, Rhonda Page (14.18) beat Mary McLatchie (13.67) 3-0 and Jean Hagan (16.89) beat Tina Watson (14.55) 3-0. Lady of the match Gail Carhart (17.70) defeated Vee Page (18.38) 3-1 to get the first and only point for M and D because Molly Pywell (16.34) beat Agnes Bootman (14.76) 3-0 and Wings won both pairs.
The Mile House entertained The Cricketers Arms who won 4-3. Karen Monaghan (13.54) beat Maureen Alderson (12.40) 3-0 to put the visitors in front. It was soon level when Karen Jones beat Louise Allan (12.38) 3-1 and Mile House went in front when Tracey Simcox (10.46) beat Jane Andrews (10.22) 3-1. The scores were levelled when Marj Gunn (11.57) beat Margaret Nelson (10.49) 3-1 and they took the lead when Trish Manton (12.91) beat Vi Milburn (12.00) 3-1. The pairs were shared to make a final score of 4-3 to The Cricketers. Karen Jones was lady of the match.

Crook Ladies League
The unbeaten leaders, Crook Coach and Horses came very close to their first defeat of the season when they entertained Crook Queen's Head and only managed to edge through by the odd point. The Coach took the singles at 4-2 and then pulled through the doubles at 2-1, while the Queen's landed the double points team game.
Defeat for the Coach and Horses would only have been a dent to their pride for they lead the table by 62 points with Tow Law New Market B in second place, 30 points ahead of the Queen's Head.

The qualifying stages of the league singles championship were held at four venues with two players from each moving forward to the next stage.

At Willington Brewer's Droop: John Mason (Hunwick Joiners Arms) beat Geoff Maddison (Prospect Club) and Paul Allchurch (Willington Commercial) beat Paul Hutchinson (Willington Black Horse Tavern).

Travellers Rest beat Croft A 3-2 in the final of the dominoes knockout - the darts teams having a night off and playing dominoes. On their way to the final Travellers beat Queens Head and Farrers Arms before a 3-1 semi final win over Market. Meanwhile Croft had wins over Blue Bells and Golden Fleece A before a 3-2 semi final victory over Mill House.
The matches were played at Queens Head and sponsored by landlord Stephen Gibson.
