TWO Dales firms hope to make their mark on the Internet with specialist help from agencies.
Compris, the Information Society Initiative for Yorkshire, and Business Link have helped Outhwaites, the ropemakers in Hawes, to develop a website to publicise its traditional craft, still alive in Wensleydale.
Meanwhile, the Wensleydale Dairy has also benefited from professional guidance on its marketing strategy, redesigning its Internet home page to better define trade and consumer sections.
"Expert help has proved not only essential but most beneficial and educational as well,'' said spokesman for Outhwaites, Andy Monk.
Phil Sykes, of the Wensleydale creamery, said: "This has been a very beneficial project for the company.
"This teamwork has created what we believe to be a website which will promote our image in a way to attract more business in the coming years.''
