RESIDENTS and a parish council have won their fight to prevent development on the fringe of Masham, near Ripon.
Councillors voted against planning officers' advice to refuse an outline application for two homes in Rodney Terrace.
Planning officer Mike Warden said that, provided there was on-site parking, he believed the road was adequate to serve the development.
Harrogate Borough councillors were worried about the safety of the development, and refused the application tabled by the Ripon and Leeds Diocesan Board of Finance.
Residents complained the development would be obtrusive for surrounding homes.
