A RANGE of improvements to museums will be carried out after a funding boost.
The Yorkshire Museums Council has awarded £11,633 to museums in Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon, and Pateley Bridge.
Projects which have been supported include computer technology for creating digital images of collections, and specialist equipment for monitoring environmental conditions in museums.
The museums to benefit are the Royal Pump Room, Mercer Gallery and Harlow Carr Museum of Gardening, in Harrogate, the Ripon Museums of Law and Order, the Nidderdale Museum and Knaresborough Castle Museum.
Mary Kershaw, head of museums and arts for Harrogate, said: "These grants will help to ensure that our museum collections are kept in improving conditions across the district, which is important for their long-term preservation.
"This support is great news for us, and financial support for these projects can be especially important to the smaller voluntary museums."
