THE leadership of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has been appointed for the coming year.
The annual meeting of the authority's controlling Labour group has elected its officers for the next 12 months.
The group elected councillor Cliff Houlding as chairman and renominated councillor David Walsh as council leader, with councillor George Dunning as his deputy.
Some of the other key posts are held by councillor Ian Jeffrey, as leader for lifelong learning; councillor Sylvia Szintai, environment and infrastructure; councillor Pat Harford, social services; and councillor Barbara Bowater, housing.
