A mobile creche is to operate in east Cleveland, allowing parents to develop their education and training.
The creche is run by the East Cleveland Holiday and Out of School Web, at Loftus.
It will travel to community centres throughout the area to provide a childcare facility for parents who are taking part in regular training.
Barbara Baker, who coordinates the group, said yesterday: "Our mobile creche aims to give more local parents the opportunity to attend training courses.
"We work closely with training providers, such as the Workers Education Alliance, Surestart and the Education Action Zone.
"We can take up to 24 children at a time, and our largest group at the moment is at Carlin How."
With the help of a recent donation of £400 from the Greggs Trust, the group has been able to buy new toys and equipment for use by the children.
The aim of the trust is to alleviate poverty and social deprivation in the North-East, where Greggs, a baker's business, started and prospered.
