YOUNG performers are dancing on air after being chosen for a West End show.
Twenty-three girls from the Constellations dance school, at the Jubilee Hall, New Marske, east Cleveland, will take to the stage of Her Majesty's Theatre, London, on May 27.
They were chosen for the honour after another school dropped out, leaving nobody to perform excerpts from Pocahontas and the Lion King in the Stars in Their Eyes show.
They have only eight weeks to practise their steps.
Dance teacher Claire Worton, 28, who is making the costumes, said: "We are one of eight schools from around the country performing two five-minute slots.
"Half my kids have never been on stage before, and it seemed an opportunity not to miss."
Ms Worton is hoping to raise £1,000 to cover the cost of the trip.
