AN activity group for elderly women has been given a £3,000 boost from the National Lottery.
Members of the Age Concern Gold Collective Club, in Newton Aycliffe, will be able to expand their activities and invite guest speakers to give talks and demonstrations at their meetings.
The club was formed in November.
President Margaret Vassilounis said: "We have received some great support from Age Concern, and of course the National Lottery Charities Board."
The club meets every other Wednesday, from 10am to noon, at the Pioneer Care Centre, and costs £1.
