BUDDING young sports stars are heading for one of the world's most famous footballing cities to take part in a competition.
Forty-four pupils from Richmond School leave for Milan, on Thursday, to compete against youth teams from across Europe.
The players, who make up three teams, are following in the footsteps of previous Richmond School pupils who have taken part in the festival.
The youngsters will have a chance to watch the AC Milan team in action during their week-long visit.
Teacher Andrew Mollitt, who will accompany the teams to Italy, thanked the organisations and individuals who have sponsored the trip.
"Richmond Round Table has given us some money, and Northallerton Town supercash draw has donated cash also," he said.
