A TERRITORIAL Army soldier from Bishop Auckland has been honoured in recognition of his outstanding service to the reserve forces.
Captain Philip Rolfe, a member of 102 Battalion REME (V), has received the Lord Lieutenant's Certificate. In addition to normal duties, Capt Rolfe has taken on extra responsibilities, including training the battalion shooting team.
He was presented with the certificate by the Lord Lieutenant of County Durham, Sir Paul Nicholson.
The shooting team has done well since Capt Rolfe became coach. He started his TA career in 1974 with the 233 Field Ambulance at the Eden Armoury, in Bishop Auckland
