A TINA Turner lookalike was on hand yesterday to help with a final fundraising boost.
Grandmother Maureen Wake and her friends and family are the Copycats, who transform themselves into a variety of stars, including Tina Turner and Dolly Parton, and mime to tracks to raise money for charity.
Maureen's dedication to charity work earned her a Community Achievement Award from Redcar and Cleveland Mayor, Councillor Arthur Dobson, last year, and the Copycats will top the bill at the Mayor's charity event in the Whale Hill Social Club, Eston, near Middlesbrough, on Easter Saturday.
The event, which starts at 8pm, is in aid of the mayor's two adopted charities, the Specialist Oncology Fund Teesside and the Ann Charlton Lodge for Multiple Sclerosis, in Redcar.
Mrs Wake said: "We were delighted to receive the community award and are only too pleased to help the mayor."
Coun Dobson said: "This promises to be a great fundraising finale."
Tickets costing £1 are available from the club, or by ringing (01642) 444501.
