A GROUP of teenagers suffered slight injuries yesterday, when their coach collided with a car on a busy tourist route.
The youngsters, believed to be a dance group from Shildon, County Durham, were hurt in a collision with a Renault Laguna on the A171 Sleights turn-off, near Whitby, North Yorkshire, at about 11.30am.
The elderly couple in the Laguna were freed by firefighters, but were not seriously hurt. They are thought to live locally.
Two of the teenagers were injured, one with whiplash and the other with a back injury. They were taken to Whitby Hospital for treatment.
Fourteen of the youngsters were said to be suffering shock and were also taken to hospital. The road was blocked for about an hour.
