Mary Le Druillenec from Heighington took two under 17 titles at the recent Durham County junior closed tournament in Peterlee to add to the pair she won at under 19 level the weekend before.

The Richmond school year 12 student, currently coached by Peter Higman in Stockton and previously by Peter Walton at Aycliffe, was clearly dominant.

The Durham county senior and county junior for both Durham and Yorkshire beat Louise Trueman from Darlington in the singles final and then teamed up with Gareth John from Stockton to win the mixed doubles over a Sunderland pair.

Gareth John was a triple champion, also beating Alec Reeves of Darlington in the singles and teaming up with Ian Lambert of Washington in the boys' doubles.
