FACTORY staff had a hairy day yesterday when they set out to raise cash for charity.
The Orange Wig Day at Flymo, in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, was a huge success, with 300 people taking up the offer of a wig in the company colours for the day.
Money raised will go to the Butterwick Hospice, in Stockton.
Cash was still coming in at the end of the day from sponsors and businesses.
In the past, fundraising efforts at the lawnmower factory have included dying two sheep orange.
Ross Golightly, UK marketing controller for Electrolux, which owns Flymo, said: "There are literally 300 people on site with orange hair.
"It has been a roaring success."
Donations can be made directly to Margaret Mallon at the hospice on (01642) 624231.
