DAREDEVILS are needed to take part in a challenging abseil, to raise money for the Hartlepool and District Hospice.
The 90ft sponsored abseil will take place on Saturday, June 30, at Hartlepool fire station.
An initial registration fee of £10 is needed to book a place on the day.
Then, anyone who raises more than £50 in sponsorship will receive a limited edition model of the hospice's Roofus Bear.
Staff and doctors from the Peterlee Community Hospital have already agreed to take the plunge, to raise money for the hospice, which they have adopted as their charity of the year.
Tina Holyroyd, the senior fundraiser for the hospice, said yesterday: "This is the first abseil that we have organised, and we would like everyone from eight to 80 to participate.
"No experience is needed as training will be given on the day by our qualified abseil instructors.
"The event is guaranteed to be exhilarating and fun, and also a great way of raising funds for our hospice, to help local people with incurable illnesses."
