YOUNGSTERS at a Durham school hope to get to grips with the world of technology in their new computer suite.
The suite is being built at St Margaret's Church of England School, in Crossgate Peth, and the race is on to raise the money to equip it with 15 computers.
The effort got off to a good start thanks to a disco and supper evening for parents, organised by the Friends of St Margaret's, at the Hallgarth Manor Hotel, Pittington, which raised £1,900.
The Friends also organised a treat afternoon for which parents baked cakes and pupils can buy a cake and a drink for 40p.
Durham Mayor George Wharton and his wife Cecilia judged a school Easter egg competition. The event raised £186 towards the computers
