RESIDENTS of an estate have been charting their roots - literally.
People living at Hemlington, near Middlesbrough, have found a map of the area dating back to 1839.
The Hemlington History Group has put its findings of eight months of delving back into the past, on public display at the Oaks Community Centre, with the support of B&N Housing.
Regional manager Stephen Bray said: "A lot of hard work has gone into this project and this is an excellent opportunity for local residents to socialise and enjoy finding about their history.''
