A PIONEERING group of young people are celebrating a huge response to the first part of a survey they hope will improve their community.
Peer Support 2K, in Darlington, has polled 200 people in the town's Cornmill Shopping Centre, in an effort to establish an overview of how young people are regarded in the mall.
Shoppers and shopkeepers of all ages were consulted in the survey, which was commissioned because of perceived problems with young people hanging around the centre.
Further surveys are expected to be carried out elsewhere in the town, in the coming weeks.
The results of the first survey are expected to be published soon by Darlington Borough Council.
