A 19th Century water pumping station has been fired up for the Easter weekend.
Andy Lowes is pictured checking a lubricator at the Tees Cottage Pumping Station. The station, with its 25-ton beam, was built on the outskirts of Darlington in 1849 after uncomplimentary reports about the town's water supplies.
Now, it only runs on special occasions, including the annual Easter event when visitors see the pump in action at its home at Broken Scar, off the A67, this weekend.
After a successful test run earlier in the week, the station will be in action tomorrow and Monday, both from 11am to 4pm.
Entry is £2 for adults and £1 for children and pensioners.
The event will include little steam trains for children, a caf, shop and more.
