AN animal rescue worker fears her horses are suffering, as she cannot find straw to feed them.
Kate Wilson has issued an appeal for fodder for the 40 abandoned horses she cares for at Ramshaw Animal Rescue Centre, Bishop Auckland, County Durham.
All the farms that supply her lie within an infected area and nothing can leave them.
She said yesterday: "The horses are literally bringing the gates down, wanting to be fed. It's scary. I'm quite happy to buy straw. I'm not asking for donations."
Anyone able to help is asked to contact Ms Wilson on (01388) 834644.
