A Sedgefield drama group is off to the Isle of Man on Wednesday to take part in an annual Easter Festival.
Sedgefield Players, who will be presenting Gym and Tonic, by John Godber, which is produced by Walter Howell, will be competing against six other societies from all over the country in the festival of one-act plays.
The play, a comedy with a message, will be presented on the Friday, when the players will have the opportunity all that day to prepare and rehearse on their own set.
This will be their first opportunity to do so, because Sedgefield Parish Hall is being used as a classroom.
The local presentation of the play had to be in the Studio Theatre at Sedgefield Community College, with a curtain set only.
Howewever, Mr Howell is confident that the experienced cast will be on top form for their presentation.
The group is hoping to do even than last year, when Paul Baguley carried off the best actor award. He takes a lead part again in this year's entry
