A TOWN's Roman Catholic parishioners are being put in the picture about their past.
An exhibition reflecting Catholic life in Middlesbrough over the years is one of a number of fundraising ideas which have been devised to help pay for repair and refurbishment work to St Clare's Church, in Brookfield.
The exhibition, which is being held at the church this week, includes photographs and memorabilia from school parish and diocesan events, Corpus Christi processions and pilgrimages to Walsingham and Lourdes.
There also mementos of the Young Christian Workers, the Union of Catholic Mothers and other Catholic organisations, the Pope's visit to the North in 1982, and the diocese's millennium celebrations at the Riverside Stadium, last year.
Parish priest Canon Eddie Gubbins said: "We have many fundraising activities under way and more planned for the future.
"This exhibition is, of course, one such fundraiser, but we feel it is also a way of inviting and involving others in our parish, if only for a short time.''
Visitors can take along for inclusion in the exhibition their own photographs.
