A CHARITY has been honoured for its remarkable fundraising efforts.
Darlington and District Federation of Townswomen's Guilds, has raised just over £7,300 for Save the Children over the past 18 months.
To recognise the achievement, chairman Elsie Robinson was presented with a certificate by the charity's national director of finance, Nick Kavanagh, at a conference in Harrogate Ladies' College.
The money was raised at a summer fete, strawberries and cream day, an antiques valuation and a tombola.
The group's efforts boosted the coffers of the Stockton branch of Save the Children to more than £20,000 over the year, which helped them become the charity's highest fundraisers in the North of England.
