The North East Vehicle Restoration Club is planning a classic car show and open day.
The event will take place on Sunday, May 13, in Washington, Wearside.
Michael Hartley is one of the members who will be showing his work at the open day, exhibiting a Ranger Cub car that has been restored from a car kit, popular 30 years ago.
Mr Hartley said yesterday: "Even though the car is over a quarter-of-a-century old, it probably only saw five or six years of actual use on the road."
Some of the other vehicles that are currently being worked on range from a 1930s Singer to the construction of a new Lotus Seven look-alike.
